Hope For Haiti

Hope For Haiti (front)

I have spent many teary-eyed hours in my studio listening to the horrific reports from Haiti while I work. And besides making me feel especially lucky for the life I get to live, and because I do not really like catastrophes so much, that country’s suffering has prompted me to try to help, in my own small way. I have designed a necklace that is inspired by the metal arts that the Haitian people handcraft from recycled steel drums. These are large, sculptural wall hangings, sometimes several feet wide, with images of rural life, animals, masks, mermaids, trees, and angels. This angel necklace is reminiscent of those stamped and pierced sculptural pieces, but small (1.75″x1.75″), and made of sterling silver.

Hope For Haiti (back)

On the back, you’ll find the words ‘Hope for Haiti’. It hangs from a 16″ thin leather cord with a silver clasp. Each necklace costs $50 and 50% will go to support Haitian relief efforts. I am taking orders now, though they will not be available until mid-February. Please contact me at my studio at 303-449-5975 or email me at Amy@Cowboys-Sweetheart.com with ‘Hope for Haiti’ in the subject line, if you are interested. Please don’t email me your credit card info, as my site is not secure….yet. And please pass this along to like-minded friends who might want to help in this way.
Thanks so much!
