About the Book: Horsing Around in the Town of Gold Hill

Happy 2023!

2022 was a wild ride. I released my first kid’s book, “Horsing Around In The Town Of Gold Hill” at the end of the year, thanks to all of you. And this month, I got to relax for approximately three minutes… In Mexico… It was glorious. Now that 2023 is in a full gallop, I am trying to fig out how to promote the book while simultaneously building my jewelry inventory for the upcoming summer season at the tiny shop. Yes, I am still here hammering/sawing my fingers and crawling around the studio floor searching for dropped diamonds… Some things don’t change. I have a couple of great women on my team, though, helping me navigate the business side of things. So far, the book is not on the best-seller list, nor have I been featured on Oprah, but a girl can dream! Heather Collins brings 17+ years of communications experience to the table and she has a wicked plan to help me get the book OUT THERE. Also, Karelle Scharff, web-wizard/owner/consultant of Best MacSolutions, has been updating my website to include a landing page for the book with e-commerce. You can visit it here! It even has a fancy form for adding a really positive, 5-star book review, if one were so inclined. There’s also a link to to my book blog where you can find my comical rants and latest book news if you care to engage in that silliness as I continue this convoluted, creative journey. I’ve got a good feeling about 2023 and I hope you guys do, too!

And speaking of YOU GUYS…. I’ve got some kind offers for you from some kind peeps. Here we are at the end of January and I bet there’s more than a few of you that haven’t yet gotten around to framing those “Horsing Around” illustration prints. Amiright?! The first kind offer comes from a dear college friend, John Read, famous for his beautiful, hand-built, acoustic guitars. It turns out he has a side-hustle; custom framing! He is offering hand-made, craftsman-style picture frames in solid quarter-sawn oak stained Dark Mission Brown, with premium, Artic White, double mat, high-quality, optically-pure plexiglass, and sized perfectly for your “Horsing Around In The Town Of Gold Hill” print. Hanging hardware and shipping included. All for the special price of $150 for my Kickstarter supporters. How cool is this?!

Annnnnnnd… the other super kind offer comes from another backer, Jese Engwall, friendly neighbor in Jamestown and owner of Boulder Frameworks custom picture frame shop by McGuckin’s. She is offering 20% off a custom frame of your “Horsing Around” print.  Boulder Frameworks is located at 2460 Canyon Blvd Suite L-2, Boulder, Colorado, 80302 in the Northwest corner of McGuckin’s shopping center between Osaka’s and Confluence. 303-444-1825. Shop hours are Tuesday-Friday 10-5, Saturdays 10-4. Look how awesome her unique frame looks!

Please, if you haven’t already framed your print, consider supporting these generous people. And if you have already framed your print, consider supporting them with your future, custom, framing needs.

In 2023, let’s all resolve to slow down, read more books, and get the hell outside so we can fall in love with the natural beauty that surrounds us! Please share “Horsing Around In The Town Of Gold Hill” with your friends! Let them know that it is available to purchase on my website, at The Boulder Bookstore (in Boulder), and at Barbed Wire Books (in Longmont).

Thank you to everyone who is able to support us and the work we love to do!
